Hi, I’m Francesca, a published author, nature writer, and environmentalist based in Portland, Oregon.

My environmentally themed novels explore topics like climate change, pollution, and the human place in nature.

I write weekly blog posts celebrating the beauty of the Pacific Northwest through poetry, prose-poetry, and lyrical narratives.
Environmental FICTION
My books range from realistic fiction to sci-fi, taking readers from Oregon forests to dystopian trash islands to alien planets. I’m honored to be the recipient of the 2019 Independent Publisher Book Award for Science Fiction and the 2014 Moonbeam Bronze Medal for Best First Book.

Nature writing blog
My nature writing blog explores the human connection to the more-than-human world, inviting readers to develop a sense-of-place by learning more about the plants and animals around them.
The mist hangs there a cloud pressed to glass by early afternoon, the water flowing into churn and froth, the river stones chirping against each other as they toss under the force of the waterfall, and on the shore the blackened trunks of old firs catch sun through cloud light still healing from wildfire scars

Sign up for my newsletter and you’ll receive nature writing prompts, environmental book recommendations, and more.
